The development allows for protected income products in retirement plans custodied by Matrix.
Leaders in retirement plan technology innovation iJoin and IPX Retirement announced today with Broadridge a platform integration that makes retirement income products available to 401(k) plan advisors and their clients who custody through Matrix. The Allianz Lifetime Income+ Fixed Index Annuity is the first in-plan solution available via this integration.
Allianz Lifetime Income+® Annuity with the Lifetime Income Benefit has been available on iJoin since late 2022. The in-plan income solution is a fixed index annuity with innovative design features including growth potential, protection from market loss, and guaranteed lifetime income through the Lifetime Income Benefit. This benefit has the potential to increase annually for life to help mitigate the effects of inflation. Guarantees are backed by the issuing company.

By adding Allianz Lifetime Income+® as an in-plan income option in iJoin managed accounts, employers and their advisors can help employees nearing retirement age programmatically reduce the risk of retirement income shortfalls. iJoin calculates a highly personalized retirement income need projection for each user based on recordkeeper and other demographic data.

Through managed account programs in iJoin, a percentage of an investor’s balance can be periodically allocated to purchase protected income streams. Advisors help define the age threshold for investors to start this process of reducing equity exposure while increasing protected retirement income.
